PAYMENT OF GREEN FEES
VISITOR DIRECT BOOKINGS
1. Visitors may book in advance subject to the receipt of full payment of green fee within 30 days of booking. Royal Aberdeen Golf Club retains the right to close the course(s) in exceptional circumstances without liability. In such circumstances the Club will offer all options outlined below in 1(a) however with no price differential to the customer. All cancellations shall be subject to the undernoted policy:
(a) Cancellations outwith 14 days of date of play will be offered the options of (i) rescheduling up to 12 months in advance at the same rate retaining 100% of the initial booking value (ii) a credit note, subject to difference in price when redeemed or (iii) a refund to the value of 75% of the initial booking.
(b) Any booking cancelled inside of 14 days of date of play shall not be entitled to any refund. However, the General Manager may exercise their discretion under exceptional circumstances in which case he/she may revert to offer one or all the options outlined above in 1(a).

DRESS CODE
INTRODUCTION
Royal Aberdeen Golf Club takes pride in being a prestigious golf club where standards are high and valued. Whilst respecting our long history and traditions, we also seek to be a progressive and relevant club where all members, visitors and guests alike can feel comfortable and accepted.
On the course Royal Aberdeen Golf Club considers the dress code and golfing etiquette to be important. The rules are clear and not open to interpretation.
In the clubhouse we want to recognise the needs and expectations across all generations in presenting oneself appropriately in a social environment. We should all seek to show respect to the club, to the course and to each other by ensuring that the minimum standards stated are always maintained.
Members, Guests and Visitors MUST therefore always comply with the following minimum rules:
ON THE COURSE
We ask that all golfers wear appropriate and recognisable golfing attire. Golf shoes must always be worn. All headgear from a recognised golf supplier is to be worn correctly i.e. peaks facing forward.
Men – Polo shirts must have a collar and sleeves, or be of recognisable golf design i.e. mock neck, and tucked in at the waist. Tailored trousers or appropriate length tailored shorts with no external pockets must be worn along with socks of any colour or length. Hoodies may be worn.
Women - Conventional golfing attire including cropped trousers, tailored shorts and skorts with socks of any colour or length. Golf dresses or sleeveless shirts with a collar or be of a recognisable golf design
IN THE CLUBHOUSE
We have a ‘Smart casual' dress code in all areas excluding the Archie Simpson Lounge on a Saturday and in the Dining room at all times, when ‘Jacket & Tie’ must be worn. Hoodies may be worn but the hood cannot be up. All head wear should be removed on entering the clubhouse.
We require golf shoes to be clean before entering the clubhouse. Soft spike golf shoes are allowed to be worn in all rooms excluding the Dining room and in the Archie Simpson Lounge on a Saturday when Jacket & tie is applicable. Metal spikes are strictly limited to the entrance foyer, hallway, changing room and rest room facilities.
For functions that demand a specific dress code such as black tie, or Jacket and tie, this will be communicated on an event-by-event basis.
UNACCEPTABLE CLOTHING ON THE COURSE / CLUBHOUSE
Any garments displaying slogans, trainers, sliders, denims of any brand and style, track suits, vests, football kit (or other sports) kits, cargo shorts, beach wear, non-golf attire tee shirts, dirty clothing and non-recognised golf wear supplier headgear.
CAR PARK
No golfer should change their shoes or clothing in the car park unless the clubhouse is closed.
MOBILE PHONES
May be used in the clubhouse for the purpose of texting/email but must always be placed on silent. When receiving or making a call, you are requested to do so in the hallway or vestibule within the club for the duration of the call.
Streaming YouTube, Sports channels or other video related content is not allowed in the clubhouse or on course.
May be used on course when receiving or making a call but must always be placed on silent, players are reminded to be respectful to both playing partners and other players. Calls should be kept as short as possible and MUST not be a contributing factor to holding up play. They may also be used for the purpose of entering WHS / Competition scores or GPS yardage devices.
LAPTOPS
Laptops may be used but only after seeking permission from Council / General or Clubhouse Manager The decision of the Council/ General or Clubhouse Manager is final.
Failure to observe our minimum expectations, both on and off the course, as outlined above may result in not being allowed to play or being asked to leave the Clubhouse or premises. As a private members' Club, we ask all Members, guests of and visitors alike to show respect and courtesy to the Club and Staff by adhering to the Dress Code Policy. Members and Staff have the authority to challenge any person unsuitably dressed which should be respected and unchallenged.
The above rules may be varied from time to time at the discretion of the Council / General or Clubhouse Manager.

HANDICAP CERTIFICATE
Visitors are made extremely welcome at Royal Aberdeen and welcomed to experience our Championship course, Balgownie Links. The club recommends the course for players holding a handicap of 24 or under due to the testing nature of the course, however the Club can recommend a mixture of tees for the higher handicapper to ensure they enjoy their experience of playing Balgownie.

We will endeavour to provide caddies if requested but unfortunately at certain times during the season our caddy pool is limited.
